Leadership. Spirituality. Service.

Ignatian Leadership

Contemplative Leaders in Action” is our leadership development program rooted in Ignatian spirituality, for young professionals (age 24-39) from throughout the Detroit area.  This cutting-edge Jesuit program virtually networks young adult leaders in 8 major cities across the country, helping them integrate the development of their leadership gifts in their professional life with their faith and spiritual growth, in the context of a supportive peer community.  Our 3rd cohort (2021-2023) of 14 young leaders completed the first of its two years in June 2022. Applications for the 4th cohort will be available early in 2023!

A Community of Spirituality

Sunday Liturgy.  Join other young adults at Mass on Sunday.  Enjoy serving as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector or Welcome Team Member.

Social Gatherings. Our young adults meet several times a month to get to know each other better as a group. Each month, we have outings around the city, a happy hour and a social after Mass.

Celebrating the International Freedom Fest!

Spiritual Community. Every Wednesday, our young adults meet to study the upcoming week’s scripture readings. We also offer young adult retreats in conjunction at the Manresa Jesuit Retreat House.  For more information, email the parish office.

Study/Discussion Series. Our young adult theological discussion series, “Faith in the D on Tap,” meets every other month at Traffic Jam and Snug (511 West Canfield St)! Fr. Gary Wright, SJ, discusses various issues of faith, such as the Church and Science, Religiosity vs. Spirituality, and Discernment.  For more information, email us!

In Service of Others

We encourage our young adults to join the wider parish community in days of service. In the past we have done projects for Earth Day, our neighborhood children, and worked on an urban farm. Many of our young people also volunteer with our Pope Francis Center for the homeless. Sign up individually or with some friends on their website (scroll down for weekday or Saturday options).

Come join us as we build a center of young adult spirituality and community at the heart of the rebirth of downtown Detroit. We live our faith in the city, so that the city’s people can live!
