Spirituality. Service. Leadership.

Come join us as we build a center of young adult spirituality and community at the heart of the rebirth of downtown Detroit. We live our faith in the city, so that the city’s people can live!

A Community of Spirituality

Sunday Liturgy.  Join other young adults at the regular Sunday services at Ss Peter and Paul Jesuit Church. Many come especially to the Sunday evening 7:30 liturgy.

Social Gatherings. Our young adults meet several times a month to get to know each other better as a group. Each month, we have outings around the city, a happy hour and a Second Sunday Social after the 7:30 Mass.

Celebrating the International Freedom Fest!

Spiritual Community. Every Wednesday, our young adults meet in the parish offices to study the upcoming week’s scripture readings. We also offer young adult retreats in conjunction at the Manresa Jesuit Retreat House.  For more information, click here.

Study/Discussion Series. Our young adult theological discussion series, “Faith in the D on Tap,” meets every other month at Traffic Jam and Snug (511 West Canfield St)! Fr. Gary Wright, SJ, discusses various issues of faith, such as the Church and Science, Religiosity vs. Spirituality, and Discernment.

Service

We encourage our young adults to join the wider parish community in days of service. In the past we have done projects for Earth Day, our neighborhood children, and worked on an urban farm. Many of our young people also volunteer with our Pope Francis Center for the homeless. Sign up individually or with some friends on their website (scroll down for weekday or Saturday options).

Leadership

“Contemplative Leaders in Action,” is our leadership development program for young professionals, rooted in Ignatian spirituality. We are now in our third year, with 17 participants in their mid-20s to mid-30s. This cutting-edge Jesuit-founded program, operating  nationally in 8 other major cities, helps participants integrate the development of their leadership gifts in their professional life with their faith and spiritual growth, in the context of a supportive peer community.

Read a one-page summary of the program here. If you are interested in a future cohort, contact our Program Director, Carrie Czajka.
