Welcome to D.I.Y. Lent! Below you will find a list of opportunities to engage in your faith this Lent, broadly separated into categories centered around service, spirituality, and sustainability. Read on, grab a couple that stand out to you, and be prepared to share starting on March 14th!
This list will be updated semi-regularly, especially with regards to service opportunities, so be sure to check in again!
Spirituality
Young Adult Scripture Study:
- Meets Tuesdays at 6:30PM in the parish offices. Prior registration is encouraged.
Full Parish Bible Study:
- Meets Fridays at 10:30AM in the parish offices (with a potential hybrid option). Prior registration is encouraged.
Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius:
- A six to eight week program including daily private prayer and weekly meetings with a spiritual director. Rolling admission. Registration is required.
Stations of the Cross and Soup Suppers:
- An opportunity for spiritual fellowship and physical fellowship. The soup supper will start at 6PM with stations starting at 6:45PM. Dates at Ss. Peter and Paul as follows: 3.21- Hosted by our Inclusion Committee, 4.4 – Hosted by our Green Team, 4.18 – After our Good Friday liturgy. Check back in for dates at our sister parish Gesu Detroit.
Anointing of the Sick:
- Receive the sacrament of the anointing of the sick after Mass on Sunday, March 23rd.
Gesu Detroit Novena of Grace:
- Nine nights of prayers beginning on March 4th at 6:30PM at our sister parish Gesu Detroit.

Service
T.E.N.N. Clothes Drive:
- Bring gently used clothes to the church from March 5th to 24th for the Titan Equity Nourishment Network annual clothing drive and thrift pop up fundraiser. All sizes welcome.
Liturgical and Educational Ministries:
- Mass couldn’t happen without our wonderful liturgical ministers and children’s liturgy of the word teachers. Consider increasing the frequency at which you serve this Lent and make sure to mark your service down on the hallway poster!
Buildings and Grounds Cleaning Day:
- Help get spring cleaning started at the church with our buildings and grounds cleaning day on March 22nd from 9AM-noon. All ability levels welcome!
Sustainability
Plastic Fast:
- Instead of giving up coffee or chocolate, consider trying a partial or full fast from single use plastic this Lent. Use this green team flyer for some helpful tips.
