I’ve been really grateful for the warm weather this week. I don’t know about you, but if we’d had another week of rain and gray skies, I might’ve lost it a little bit. Now, though, I have my eyes set on summer.

We have so many exciting opportunities to get outdoors and enjoy the sunshine with our parish community coming up! Young couples, please register for an awesome dinner at Z’s on Thursday, May 18th here!

The last chance to register for the University of Detroit Mercy Road Rally is tomorrow, and SSPP is the first stop at the event, which takes place on Saturday, May 20! You can find the registration here

Also on Sunday, May 20, we will take part in the Belle Isle Clean-Up as part of our 175th Anniversary service events! Information about this event can be found in this e-newsletter. I’ll be there taking photos, and I hope to get some of your smiling faces!

As if that weren’t enough, I’d like to invite you to think ahead to June for a moment. I know that my summer schedule is jam-packed, and I want to make sure that you have these on your calendar. On Saturday, June 3rd at 6:30 pm, we will host a special Checkered Flag Mass in conjunction with the Detroit Grand Prix. We will not have mass on Sunday, June 4th, so please be sure to join us for this exciting, fun opportunity to celebrate the Eucharist and the interesting happenings in our city.

Finally, on Sunday, June 25th, we will celebrate our 175th anniversary feast day with an awesome block party filled with activities for people of all ages to enjoy! Please RSVP here as soon as possible so that we can get an accurate headcount for food (vegan options are available!).

With all of that said, I hope I see you quite often in the coming weeks, and I hope that you take some time to get outside and feel the sunshine.
