Recently some email providers, including Google’s Gmail, have made their filters more sensitive to mass emails. This has resulted in our parish emails ending up in the spam, junk, or “promotional” inboxes for many of our parishioners.

IN ORDER TO MAKE SURE YOU RECEIVE PARISH EMAILS, TAKE THE FOLLOWING STEPS!

  1. Add our “From” address (office@ssppjesuit.org) to your “safe senders” list, also known as an allow list or a whitelist. (Better yet, if your email software allows you to add safe domains, add our domain: ssppjesuit.org.) Read how to do this for the most common email systems here: About Safe Sender Lists
  2. If you find a new parish email (sent after 12/09/21) in your spam or junk folder, open it and click the “Add us to your address book” link at the bottom of the email.
  3. FOR GMAIL USERS: Manually move (drag) parish emails from the Promotions tab to your Primary tab. This will ‘train’ Gmail to make this change. When the pop-up notification appears at the bottom left, click YES to move all future parish emails to your Primary tab. You can also manage your inbox tabs; for example, you can turn off Promotions bundling, so that all your promotional emails go directly to your Primary Inbox tab, instead of the Promotions tab.  See directions here: Add or remove inbox categories & tabs in Gmail
