We are coming up on the year’s end, and what a year it has been! We served our city by cleaning up Belle Isle, working on an urban farm, and helping over 1000 children have a safe and happy Halloween. Fr. Matt Linn, SJ talked to us about healing and Fr. Peter Fennessy, SJ showed us the beauty and spirituality of icons. And it wasn’t “Just My Imagination,” but our Motown-themed picnic was a blast!
Now is not only a time to reflect on the past, but to look toward the future. This coming year promises even more growth in our “Spiritual, Service, and Social” realms at Ss Peter and Paul. We have a new Green Team, are committed to accompanying immigrants in our community, and will be starting a reading program for neighborhood children. In February, we will commence our “Solidarity on Tap” series, which will focus on Catholic Social Teaching and justice issues in our community and come March we will be volunteering at Ronald McDonald House. Our Young Adults, too, have a full plate with trivia, fowling, and their own spirituality series, “Faith in the D on Tap,” beginning in January. Be on the lookout in the next few weeks for more information on all of these, and other, activities. Have a blessed last few days of Advent and a joyous Christmas season!
Please check out our Jan 2020 calendar and stop by our after-mass socials for a chance to meet others in our growing parish!
