Ss. Peter and Paul Jesuit Church, home of the oldest church building in the city of Detroit, is pleased to announce a special Jazz Mass in celebration of the 38th Annual Detroit Jazz Festival. The Jazz Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, September 3.
For this special service the church welcomes well-known Detroit jazz musicians Janice Franco, vocals, and the Cliff Monear Trio featuring Sean Dobbins and Jeff Pedraz. The music will include beloved church favorites as well as unique offerings from the musicians. A light reception will be shared after the service, and guided tours of the historic building will be available.
Ss. Peter and Paul Jesuit Church is located on East Jefferson Avenue at the corner of St. Antoine, in downtown Detroit. Secure parking is available behind the church on Larned Street, and the church is handicap accessible. All are welcome to come for this special celebration of jazz music in Detroit!
